The centre of the competition is in the MMX Brewery. Here you will also find information about the competition years. For take-offs we will use the newly established Balloon Arena by the Berounka River next to the Sokolovna and the training ground for dogs, the meadow in Karlštejn and above Hlásná Třebání. We are planning take-offs in the morning and evening and we hope that we will have better weather than in 2024.
We expect the arrival of competitors by 27 April, when we expect the 1st take-off in the evening. The contest will close on May 3.
We expect about 10 crews to participate.

Call for volunteers
When you see a balloon in the sky, do you want to learn more about flying? How about a taste of what ballooning looks like and a glimpse behind the scenes of an international ballooning competition? If you’re nodding your head in agreement, we have good news for you. We’re looking for you right now! We would love to meet you, explain how the competition works and get you involved as a judge.
We are looking for volunteers to:
- ride with the crews in an escort vehicle and their job will be to navigate the crews to their designated locations, help them navigate our region and confirm their account of the flight,
- or measure and check the results at the destination.
What is needed for this?
- age 16 and over (parental consent for minors)
- communicative and enthusiastic
- knowledge of English or German an advantage
Those who are enthusiastic about ballooning can become members of the organizing Balonklub Karlstejn or even become balloon pilots.
